Dr. Mary Spellman is a board-certified dermatologist with over two decades of experience in drug development and pharmacovigilance, with a focus on rare diseases. Her expertise covers the development of topical and oral small molecules, gene and cell therapies, biologicals, devices, and cosmeceuticals, across indications such as dermatologic, rheumatologic, gastrointestinal, hematologic, respiratory, and neurological diseases. Dr. Spellman has extensive experience in nonclinical and clinical development, supporting multiple INDs, NDAs, and MAAs in Europe from discovery through to post-launch activities, including Phase IV and other commercial support. She has successfully managed and supported diverse multifunctional teams, both in Europe and through joint projects with collaborators in Asia.

Her medical affairs experience includes call center staffing and response development, and she is skilled in communicating with internal and external teams, including investors, medical professionals, and other development partners. Her leadership roles include serving as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Castle Creek Biosciences, Menlo Therapeutics, and Revance Therapeutics. She has also held senior positions at Biogen Idec, Connetics Corporation, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and has academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Medicine/Dermatology at UC San Diego.
